About me
Hello there and welcome!

I’m a thirty something year old teacher who is occasionally mistaken for a student in the hallway. Seriously. More than once I’ve been asked to “get in line” by another teacher!
I started running in December 2008 to get in shape and quickly realized that while it kicks my butt I love it! Okay, not always but most of the time.

I’m totally hooked on running and finished my first marathon – the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco October 18, 2009. It was certainly a battle – mentally, physically, and emotionally – but I did it!

Shortly before I started running I found an amazing magazine that totally changed the way that I thought about food called Clean Eating. I’ve always had a “love/hate” relationship with food and over the years it was certainly more “hate” than “love” but somehow the concepts that I read about in the magazine totally made sense to me. There are a few simple “guidelines” that I try to follow:
- Eat food as close to it’s natural state as possible
- Eat colorful fruits and vegetables
- Eat whole grains
- Eat lean protein
- Drink lots of water
Pretty easy, eh? I may not always make the healthiest food choice (I love a good burger and fries or a slice of pizza) I always try to focus on these concepts while understanding that developing and maintaining a healthy relationship with food is a learning process and will be a life-long journey for me.

So…welcome to my journey!

Hey Dani!
LOVE your blog! I became a runner in high school and just fell in love with it. I truly appreciate your relationship with food as I have fought a similar battle.
You look Fabulous!
Miss you:) Jennine
You’ve been “FLAMINGOED!” Stop over at my house (er, blog) to make sense of that
